COPPER WIRE BRAIDED FLEXIBLE TAPES & CORDS
These conductors are designed to minimise the loss in voltage while the current flows through in very high density and at low pressure. This current carrying capacity also varies with the temperature of the conductors. Hence a ventilation to the conductor is provided by means of varied designs to the braids. The compact braids provide lesser cooling, whereas braids with twisted wires provide air gap to cool the conductor sufficiently and keep the current carrying capacity to the maximum. These twisted wire braids also provide good mechanical strength, resisting at least 25 million operations, provided the sockets are properly soldered up to the punched holes. Finest wires are used to get the maximum surface area in minimum cross section. Chemical plants employ these cables for electrolysis batteries tanks as ANODIC Cables while for bus bar purposes flat tapes are used as CATHODIC cables by fitting suitable cable lugs of varied designs.
